We are happy and proud to present our magnificant breeding pair of Traditional Ragamuffen Cats. After careful consideration, we have decided to share our love of these cats with the rest of the world. They collectively bring joy to us and therefore, we decided to share that through our developing breeding program. It is our goal to provide you with happy and healthy kittens that you can enjoy.
Operating a family farm teaches us that the health of our animals is the foundation of a successful farming involving any animal. So it also applies to the breeding of our cats. To serve this we have had our breeding cats tested for Feline Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD1), Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).
The HCM and the PDK1 tests were performed by UC Davis Vetrinary Genetics Laboratory, and the FeLv and FIV tests were performed by our own vet. These are important verifications that the kitten you get from us has the utmost attention paid to their health before they are even conceived.
We take the health of all our animals very seriously, and so should you.
Country Ragcats proudly presents our main stud male, New Walden Achilles.
Achilles is a very handsome Red and White McTabby with beautiful matching golden eyes. His long haired coat of velvety soft fur is like a rabbit’s. He absolutely loves people! We know this because he constantly follows us around the house like our shadow. Whatever room we are in , that is where you will find Achilles.
When he came to live with us, he had never been around dogs before. We were wondering how that would work out, becaue we own three energetic Border Collies. Well, it took a week or two but Achilles, in typical RagaMuffin fashion, calmly introduced himself to our pooches and casually became their friends. RagaMuffins are like that, easy going, contemplative, and calculated. Lovely traits to have in a furry, feline friend.
Country Ragcats proudly presents our main breeding female, Muffin Mafias LaMarraine.
LaMarraine is a gorgeous three colored Torbie with Golden Eyes. Her tail is fluffy and long and her coat is mid-length and velvety soft to the touch.
Reine (as we call her) has to have things her own way. She loves to be petted, but only when she want to be. She like sleeping in high places and enjoys chasing flies and bugs when they happen to be passing by. She is a “foodie”, meaning she loves treats. She will gobble us what we give to her and still expect more.
She is like all other RagaMuffins in that she misses us when we are gone. Staying in the same room as he humans is a common practice. We enjoy Reine and are excited to see what lovely kittens she is sure to produce.
